Corporate Benefits scheme success: Bodilight recently attended a Health and Beauty event at The Home Retail Group Head office in Milton Keynes. It was a great success and we had lots of interest. We carried out demonstrations, gave away Free gift vouchers and goody bags. We also talked to people about the treatments available and offered information and advice. Professional Beauty exhibition 2011: Just back from the Professional Beauty 2011 at Excel and its official - Lash Extensions are the hottest trend!

Professional Beauty Exhibition 2011

After visiting yesterdays exhibition there is a buzz about the clinic today with the latest trends being topic of conversation!

The most recent celebrity beauty craze that seems to be making it’s way into salons and spas all over the world is Eyelash Extensions. This treatment precisely places individual lashes around the eyelid using a high quality medical grade glue.  The treatment takes around 1&1/2 - 2 hours and they last for approximately 4-6 weeks. Delia's transition - Permanent makeup

After making the biggest decision of her life in January 2010, Delia took the first steps as part of the transition from male to female – transgender. It took Delia over 50 years to build up the courage to make the change and I’m sure you can imagine how much of a traumatic life changing experience lay ahead for her.

We at Bodilight are proud to have been a part of helping Delia in a number of ways with her transition so far and feel that our experience in dealing with such a delicate personal situation has assisted in her in feeling comfortable and confident within our clinic environment. Delia has undergone laser hair removal, permanent eyebrow and permanent eyeliner procedures and a selection of other treatments which she has been delighted with the results.

Tracey Fensome's (Permanent Makeup Artist) role in Delia’s transition was to provide permanent cosmetic makeup to accentuate and soften her features. This was achieved by using Nouveau Contour pigment colours. Her experience and expertise in applying these advance techniques is clearly demonstrated in the photos attached. It is obvious how permanent makeup also known as micropigmentation can enhance and change the whole face.

Delia had very few brows left that could be incorporated into the brow, and the shape was not feminine enough to show off her great brow bone, so it was a case of starting from scratch. Tracy used permanent hair strokes techniques to create the shape and added powdering to give strength to the permanent eyebrow. Once the eyebrow was complete she then continued to the eyes and created a subtle permanent eyeliner through the lashes in ‘black is black’ colour pigment and finished the bottom eyeliner in a subtle deep purple black. The results are stunning and bring out Delia's beautiful natural eye colour. The next step at a later appointment will be to redefine her lips with a subtle permanent lip line and blended into her natural lip colour to redefine and repigment the area. This will also be carried out at Bodilight very soon!

The whole process has convinced Delia that she wants to help others like her achieve transition as smoothly as possible. What a good start to the year !

Well, where to start? January is coming to an end and whilst it has been a long month for some, we cant help but think its gone way to quick. We have been overwhelmed with how busy the clinic has been.  What a great way to start this year.

Pamper your Nails – Since introducing a selection of manicure and pedicure treatments and Acrylic nail enhancements back in March 2010, we have been inundated with requests to offer Gel Nail enhancements too. So, with effect from last week we are delighted to advise you that Gel Nails are now available and just in time for those all important parties. Gel nails are £35 and until the end of January we are offering 20% OFF.

Bodilight Osteopathy Clinic - Osteopath “Sally Guest” has been running regular clinics at Bodilight for about a year now, and what started out as just a couple of days a week, has quickly increased to  four,  some times a five day a week service. Sally is a respected and well known individual within her industry and her clients can not speak highly enough of her. She has helped so many patients in the past year and since the arrival of the snow, it seems that more and more people have caused injury to them selves during the slippery conditions.

Whilst for some people laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure, for others it is a necessity. Female sufferers of polycystic ovaries syndrome, thyroid conditions and other hormone imbalances often have excessive hair growth on the face and other areas of the body. These people often arrive for their initial consultation with very little confidence and self esteem, however a few treatments on and the transformation is obvious. Laser hair removal not only removes unwanted hair, for these people it can give them back their life.
